The sailors’s manifesto
is curtains drawn on the customs
of our better selves and doorway indices

The stalwart lining
so short with tempered alimony
and shaded ferns of albatross laughter

Solidify a trade of malcontents
again at the doorway indices
against all might and the freedom of fallen

twitches of concern
