A new page of day
Is torn from out calendar of body
Nurtured from ages of regret
Neglect, and sunrays of disposal
Towards the everlasting party ribs
Of her tone and density
Like a harp’s jewel
Or a song’s bemused antagonist
I have been in morning’s awkward fret
And held disproportionate
Like the glow of the sun in rusting heat
And diminished capacity
I have learned through
Belligerent experience that
Necessity is no small bounty
No bounty as well
And crucial as the
Still small daily whisper of summer’s
Neglecting praise
