When the Kids Have Stopped Working

Stalled on the treeway
an olive oil change by the side of the forest
the streets lined with pickles and berries

the olives only react to positive feelings
Rescued by unfamiliar plants like emergency signs
a stop sign between the trees and crosswalks
bicycle lanes that stretch for miles
sold salt gold mines left to memory
no children work for vanity and capitalist-fetishism anymore
just kids on bikes like a harvest of olive trees
